Hello everyone! I know I haven’t posted in a few weeks (what’s new). I have decided to dedicate this post to links- interesting things, things friends are doing, and other items of interest. I hope you enjoy!
Laura’s website. Check out the Switzerland section, Testimonials/Temoinages- both statements and gallery. But really, check out the whole website. This lady is talented!
I don’t know if I ever shared this on my blog- but it’s an article I wrote for the Fulbright U.S. Student’s blog.
The Oeuvre de Secours Aux Enfants is an organization in Paris that was instrumental in rescuing Jewish children during the war. Still an active organization today doing amazing work.
OHCHR’s 51st CEDAW session at the United Nations- the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. I’ve been attending and it has been interesting to observe the international oversight process for gender equality in countries.
If you ever make it to Suisse Allemand- even to the airport or train station- this place has great “fast food” fish options.
Montreux Jazz Festival- reminiscent of NOLA JazzFest, anyone?
I’ve always been a big fan of idealist, but if you’re looking for jobs in social services, internships or volunteer opps this website is for you!
I haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but “The Interrupters” model will be implemented in NOLA soon, with a pretty large budget. Worth checking out.
Not having to do with Fulbright- but this is a link to my department at the WHO. Some cool publications.
The Association of Jewish Refugees in the UK. I went to their book launch event of “We Remember”, a book of memoirs of survivors, and it was very inspiring. The event took place at the Wiener Library.
The Wiener Library is a wonderful resource, archive, and library in a new building in London. Check it out!
A clearinghouse for used books at good prices! Someone shared this secret with me, and it’s a must-know for all book lovers. Happy shopping!
Hope you enjoy some of these links- linking my past, present, and future life here in Switzerland! Leave me a comment or some feedback if you like something in particular!
